Spend a Day at Irvine Regional Park

Looking for summer activities near Orange, CA, that are perfect for people of all ages? Irvine Regional Park offers a wide range of fun family activities. Take a train ride on the Irvine Park Railroad, rent bikes or paddle boats, watch animals at the county zoo, or enjoy a beautiful hike—all at the same park. 

On top of exciting activities, Irvine Regional Park has beautiful hiking trails open daily starting at 6:00 a.m. You can even bring your dog along for the fun! Just be sure to keep them on a 6-foot leash while visiting. And if you get hungry, there are two snack bars full of hot and cold snacks to keep you well fed and happy throughout the day. Being outside is one of the best parts of the summer, so make sure to enjoy it!

Go to an Angels Game or Take a Tour of the Stadium

From July 15 to August 14 this year, you can enjoy live entertainment and more at the Orange County Fair! The following acts are just a few of the concerts you can catch at this year’s event:

Sawdust Art Festival

Are you a fan of the arts and supporting your local community? Laguna Beach’s Sawdust Art Festival is the perfect place to view work by local artists, including clothing, woodworking, ceramics, and more! This open-air art venue is fun and funky, offering an alternative to a traditional art gallery. There’s even a toe-ring booth that offers custom fittings! 

Sawdust Art Festival also focuses on educating the public about valuing art in its many forms. On top of showcasing work by local artists, they also provide art classes year-round where Sawdust artists teach visitors about techniques. The festival runs until Sunday, August 28, 2022, so be sure to stop by before then if you’re interested!

Festival of Arts – Pageant of the Masters

Like Sawdust Art Festival, the Festival of Arts is a celebration of the arts. This two-month event offers art-themed fashion shows, story times, chocolate and wine events, and a concert series with tribute bands. If you’d like to slow down, there’s even an art and yoga class every Friday at 1 p.m. 

Interested in brushing up on your own art skills? Attend a daily workshop on ceramics, printmaking, or mixed media. If your kids love art, there are also special Youth Arts Education classes at 1 and 3 p.m. on the weekdays. The Festival of Arts really has something for people of all ages!

Shows and Performances

Concerts at Hart Park

What’s better than a picnic at the park? A picnic at the park with live music! At Hart Park, you can enjoy free, family-friendly concerts every week through August 17. Concerts include hits from the 80s, classic rock hits from the 60s to today, and Latin and R&B dance favorites—which means there’s something for everyone. 

All concerts are held at Hart Park on Wednesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The event is free for all attendees, and there is food for purchase from the Kiwanis Club of Orange. Take advantage of this amazing way to enjoy live music and nature while supporting your local community. 

The Original Van Gogh Exhibit Los Angeles

You’ve likely seen pictures of the Van Gogh Experience splashed across social media. If you haven’t had the chance to go yet, summertime is a great opportunity! Located at 6400 Sunset Boulevard, this exhibit is the original. Experience the art of Vincent Van Gogh like you never have before by stepping into his most famous paintings. 

Tickets are available from $39.99 to $54.99. Want an extra special experience? There are even yoga classes you can take while at the exhibit! Plus, if you love the Van Gogh Experience, you can also enjoy immersive exhibits about Frida Kahlo and King Tut.
